While most people associate vandalism with graffiti tags and criminal activity, that is not always the case. People with creative minds can see beauty and humor in even the most mundane spots, so why not let some of their shenanigans go if they make places more interesting? From sculptures with skateboards to emotional door signs, these genius and hilarious acts of vandalism prove that some laws were simply made to be broken.
1. A Cownapping Performed By A UFO
This simple yet brilliant act of vandalism gave new life to the metal pole. Where most people just see a barrier, this person saw a UFO zapping up a cow from a field. We don't know who created this, and it may have actually been a warning sign from the aliens.
Now someone has to create another version on the rest of the poles. The plain metal poles look too boring compared to this outer space one. Hopefully, they came back to add to their vandalism.
2. That Rainforest Is Completely Flooded Now
At first, the small square of green was just a regular forest, but it turned into a rain forest after a storm. It looks more like a flooded forest after all the ice caps melt and the sea level rises beyond control. It's a look into the future.
Someone should add little animal figurines like a monkey or a toucan, so people know there is life in the forest. This could be an ad for global warming and why we need to take better care of our planet.
3. How To Give Children And Adults Nightmares
If you were driving along a road and saw this, wouldn't you be scared out of your mind? Imagine some children riding their bikes and running into this horrifying creature. That would induce nightmares for the rest of their lives.
What would make this even worse is if the eyes glowed at night. Whoever did this was creative and wanted to scare the maximum amount of people. The kids in the neighborhood probably came up with a nickname for it to warn others to stay away.
4. Mini Kong Is Not So Intimidating
This King Kong fits perfectly with the exposed structure of the building. When we see this, we just picture someone sitting at the corner of a building meticulously painting the little figure. It is so detailed that it looks like it will come off the wall and actually terrorize the city.
We don't know how this person made it look so realistic, but it is beyond amazing. How could this be considered illegal activity when it makes a flaw in the building look like it is supposed to be there?
5. Look Out, There's An Alligator On The Loose!
You know it's time to clean your vehicle when people can create incredibly detailed portraits on the side of it. This is an excellent way of telling someone it is time for a car wash even though no one would want to ruin this artwork.
At this point, who would want to was their truck when they have this sick alligator to show off? Maybe they will find a way to clean the rest of the truck without disturbing the artwork that probably took a long time, and a lot of vigilance, to not get caught in the act.
6. "I Possess The Power Of The Yo-Yo"
Long ago, in a land far away, there was a master of yo-yo who ruled the people and commanded them by the yo-yo's power. He was a leader the people needed, and he changed the course of time forever with his skills. No one could compete with him or his yo-yo wielding army.
This is the kind of vandalism people want to see. With the most subtle addition to this statue, it changed the people look at it. Whoever this is a statue of will forever be remembered as the mighty yo-yo man who led a nation with a toy.
7. Marge's Hair Is Getting Out Of Control
There was an episode of The Simpsons, where Homer created a plant version of Marge, who was superior in every possible way. After noticing the telephone pole covered in greenery, someone brought that version of Marge Simpson to life.
Marge must have forgotten to pick up some blue hair dye, so it turned green as it faded back to whatever her natural color is. She not only needs a dye job, but she also needs a haircut because this height is a little out of control.
8. "Gotta Shave My Pits"
These razors are so strong that they will cut through hair as thick as stone. The statue must have forgotten it has a big date later, so it has to shave its body from head to toe to prepare because some people actually care about personal grooming.
Most people would just see a statue minding its business, but this creative person saw an opportunity to show the world what it looks like to shave your armpits. Some people might need a reminder since we have all been locked in the house for six months.
9. Shred The Gnar, Dude
Is it really vandalism if they are just adding a skateboard? Despite the questionable definition of this one, the board perfectly fits the statue perfectly. It looks like at any moment, the statue will come to life and show those boys how he skateboarded when he was alive.
He is waiting for the right moment to hop on the board, do a kickflip, and skate away, never to be seen again. It is rumored that one night people heard a loud crash, and then the statue was gone because he finally got the wheels to get away from this eternal post.
10. The Most Relatable Door Sign Ever
Have you ever seen a sign and realized it was very relatable to your life? This sign about the fragile door speaks to the soul because we are all fragile inside, just waiting for someone to slam us too hard, and then we break.
Pepe, the frog, understands the pain of life and how fragile people are. However, he is usually sadder than the average person, so we don't know if he has ever experienced happiness. Let's all give Pepe some love, so he no longer feels like a fragile door.
11. Presto, Change-O!
Instead of using the changing table to give your baby a new diaper, you can transform your child into your desired cat or dog. Who needs babies when you could have a fuzzy friend that will never turn into a mean pimply teenager?
We are sure some people would rather have pets than babies because not everyone wants to be a parent, and that's ok. However, don't try smashing your child into one of these tables because you will go to jail for child abuse.
12. If There's Something Strange In Your Neighborhood...
"If there's something weird, and it don't look good. Who you gonna call? (Goat's butter)." If you didn't sing the Ghostbusters theme song while reading that, go back and reread it. We didn't know goat's butter was effective in getting rid of paranormal activity.
Someone should take the time to make a parody of the movie, and instead of humans, the ghostbusters are goats, and they use their butter to kill ghosts. We are giving you all the ideas to write a perfect spoof movie; now, take it and get creative.
13. What We All Wish Came Out Of These Pipes
Instead of gross sewage water coming out of these pipes, someone crocheted a lovely rainbow blanket to cover it up. Instead, we would use this as a decorative throw blanket, but at least other people can enjoy it when they see it on the street.
It's as if the pipe is regurgitation a beautiful rainbow. What makes it even better is the suspicious puddle of yellow liquid inches away from the beautiful crochet artwork. It makes the city look a little less grungy and a little cozier.
14. Bills On Bills On Bills On Bills
How many Bills do you recognize? We found Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, Bill Cosby, and even Bill Nye the Science Guy. We don't know many other important Bills, but why is it prohibited to post them in this area? What does this parking lot have against the name Bill?
The only Bill that is missing is Bill Cipher. Also, where did someone get all these stickers of famous Bill faces? They probably saw this sign, went home, printed these, and then came back because what else do they have to do with their free time?
15. Only A Worthy Contender Can Flip The Switch
If anyone could flip this switch, it would be Chuck Norris or Thor; those are the only worthy people who could turn the lights off with their special powers. We wonder what would happen if they managed to flip the switch off; would the whole world go dark?
There were probably a lot of people who tried to turn it off but failed miserably. They jumped on it, kicked it, they even threw rocks at it, but nothing worked because it is not a real switch. There are probably videos of people trying to play with this.
16. An Elevator Would Never Put Out A Fire
If there was a fire, would you put it out with an elevator or something that is proven effective - like water? Unless it is a grease fire or flammable liquids, in that case, feel free to smother the fire with an elevator. These are helpful tips if you are planning to become a firefighter.
You would be surprised that most people don't know how to put out a fire. Also in a panic, some people wouldn't think about it, and they would willingly get into an elevator when the building was on fire.
17. Sharpie Shark Doo Doo Doo Do Do Do
Sharpie shark is back to watch you in the bathroom like the creepy door hook that it is. Although hammerhead sharks are much less intimidating than great white sharks, you still wouldn't want to encounter either in the wild or the bathroom.
This vandal was kind enough not to ruin the grout so their artwork could easily be wiped away. You will never be able to see one of these hooks without imagining a hammerhead shark again. We just hope no one removed it.
18. What Are You Going To Do About It Now?
When people need to call the graffiti hotline now, how will they know the rest of the number? The figure is looking at everyone as if to say, "Who are you going to call now? No one can help you." That is one devious stick figure.
Maybe the whole joke is that there is no graffiti removal hotline because one artist drew all of this to send a message. Art shouldn't be removed; it should be used to enhance a city's beauty and show the creative minds of the city's residents.
19. Run Forest, Run!
If you have been living under a rock and haven't seen Forrest Gump, then you need to watch it on whatever streaming platform you use. It is one of the greatest movies ever, and this is a reference to the iconic line, "Run Forrest, Run."
This sign was seen in Florida, and the kids there must be very bored to resort to changing highway signs. How did someone pull this off without getting caught? We can imagine it was not a quick thing to put these letters up there.
20. Go Home Trash Can, You're Drunk
This trash can might be a little broken and falling over, but that is no reason to get rid of it. It has a drinking problem and needs its friends' support, even if it is annoying when it has had too much to drink. He can't help that people put their leftover alcohol in him.
His fellow trashcan is not happy that he always has to take care of the drunk one. He has to hold him up because it is too tipsy to stand up straight. It is about time for him to go into trash can rehab and kick the drinking habit once and for all.
21. The Seal Must Stay
The door says, "Do not remove this seal," but what if it is a loose seal? Shouldn't it be replaced for a more protective seal? No matter how cute you think it is, just remember that this seal is holding together the emergency door release, which needs to stay intact unless it is a real emergency.
Even the seal looks worried about being removed - he thinks someone will take him and hang him up on a different wall. Hopefully, people can follow the rules and let him stay where he needs to be if there is an emergency.
22. How To Make A Neighborhood More Exciting
While we personally wish the person had painted the entire thing rose gold because it is aesthetically pleasing, the spilling paint is a unique optical illusion. Can you imagine if all metal barriers and poles were painted like this? It would make a city look so much more interesting.
For some reason, the paint makes it look like it is actually spilling out of the pole. Every city should hire an artist to go around painting things that are ugly or boring. This will make the barricade more prominent, so people don't run into them anymore.
23. Berry Picking Vandalism
Although these berries are probably poisonous to humans, they are safe for tiny shadow people. Most people will never notice this because of its location and size, but they will get a pleasant surprise for those who see it.
This artist goes around the city, leaving little figures in the most unsuspecting places, so when people notice them, they can get a taste of his art style. Not all vandalism is in-your-face noticeable.
24. What About The Billion Styrofoam Cups?
While this is not artistic, the vandal has a pretty good point. Each year, Dunkin' Donuts uses billions of styrofoam cups. However, in their bathrooms, they want people to forego paper towels to save the environment. Does that make sense to you?
There are much better options for cups like recycled paper. Dunkin Donuts, stop being hypocrites and change your cup situation. Even if you don't, we still appreciate your coffee that brings happiness all year round.
25. Offer The Baby To The Gods
If you ever want to get rid of your surprise siblings, place them on this changing table. No, nothing will happen to them, but they will be covered in millions of germs. These changing tables are probably ten times grosser than the toilet seat a few feet away.
Imagine many babies descending from the ceiling saying, "Ooga Chaka, Ooga Chaka" repeatedly as they take the sacrificial baby to their secret baby world. The baby will not be harmed, but it will join the ranks of the other sacrificed babies.
26. It's The Dragon's Catch Red-Handed
When there is a fire in a building, it can be an eyesore on the street and a sad reminder of destroyed things. Instead of letting the burnt building sit ruined, a street artist made it look like a dragon was the one who ruined the building.
Instead of blaming it on faulty wiring or human error, you can blame it on the dragon who couldn't control his fire. The dragon needs to be reprimanded for destroying the inside of this building. He clearly doesn't know how much it costs to reconstruct this.
27. A More Accurate Name For The City
As many people know, marijuana is legal in California for recreational use. It is kind of like a free-for-all, so this sign is an accurate description of the city. It must have taken a lot of planning to pull off this switch up.
This happened when weed became legal in the state, so a group of people made the "O"s into "E"s. It would have been more impressive if they switched the letters for real, but that would have been much more complicated, and they would have gotten arrested probably.
28. Little Gnomes Taking Over The Park
This person thought someone put little gnome figures in the tree, but little did they know that these are real tree people. Like in Toy Story, the gnomes stop moving when humans are around because they can't show that they are alive.
They were in the middle of harvesting mushrooms when someone walked by, and they had to pretend they were fake. A child tried to take one of them, and then they had to go on a rescue mission to get their friend back.
29. I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream
These holes in the concrete wall don't look like anything more than the intended design to the average eye. However, a street artist saw something more and decided to turn it into a floating ice cream cone with three different flavors.
Why stop at one when they could have painted all of them to look like ice cream? It makes the rest of the wall look even more boring than it already was. Fair warning to everyone, do not try to taste the ice cream; it will just taste like a dirty wall.
30. Is That Supposed To Be A Bar Of Soap?
When employees go to the bathroom, they have to remember to hide their potato, so no one else sees it. We do not mean this with any innuendo to something weird; we literally mean a potato. What else would this sign mean without those instructions?
When you see this without any words, it looks like a potato more than a bar of soap. They could have added some bubbles to make it more obvious that it was a bar of soap. If it didn't say, "wash your hands" behind the piece of paper, people would surely be confused.
31. Six Little Camels Walking Along The Road
Six little camels on a concrete caravan make the road more entertaining. This one is special because you really have to stumble across it to know that these are on the street. It's such a subtle yet cute addition to the concrete path.
The same street artist who drew the little girl picking berries and the dragon also created this. Whoever they are, their city must be the most entertaining. Everywhere they go, they leave some artwork for the public to find.
32. How Many People Screamed At This Paper Towel Dispenser?
Someone walked by the bathroom and heard a person screaming, "Paper towel now!" They had to see what was going on, and they saw that someone put a sticker on the dispenser with new instructions. Can you believe someone fell for this?
You have to wonder how many other people were tricked into foolishly screaming at the paper towel dispenser. We hope the person added a camera being the sticker to capture the confusion of each person who thought it was voice-activated.
33. Mutants Are Welcome Too
This bathroom is so inclusive and progressive. Not only is it for men and differently-abled people, but they also include X-men. They are making the world more comfortable for mutants who might be embarrassed to use the public bathroom.
Even though they are only showing Wolverine and Professor X, they probably mean that all mutants are welcome to use this men's room. This might be too progressive for some conservative people, but everyone should feel comfortable going to the bathroom.
34. Parking Bender
Bender, the robot from Futurama, decided to make an appearance in this parking lot. If someone crashes into him, they will have a fender-Bender. We hope these stickers glow in the dark so it can freak people out when they walk in the parking lot at night.
He is just waiting for someone to crash into him. He seems like he would laugh if someone wrecked their car on his face. He is doing this as revenge because they wanted to remove all the Benders from Republic City.
35. Complaints Are Set In Stone
Does anyone else wonder why this part of the ramp has no purpose and doesn't lead to anything? Well, someone else had the same thought, so they left their complaint in the cement, and it will be there until someone paves over it.
Why couldn't that area have been used for plants or a tree? Instead, they removed all the plants and replaced them with muted concrete—what a waste of space that could have been used for something beautiful and green.
36. All Eyes On You
Here is an excellent idea for using googly eyes if you have them lying around this house collecting dust. For example, this poster is much more enjoyable now that each character has new eyes. It looks like they follow you around the room.
Instead of Lord of the Rings, they renamed the movie Lord of the Google Eyes. If you don't have any posters at home, go around town and use them on movie posters or whatever advertisements you can find. You would make things funnier.
37. Cheer For The Bubbles That Don't Get Appreciated
Bubbles don't get enough appreciation. They are so cute, and you can see rainbows in them, but people don't talk about them enough. This sign makes sure they get the appreciation that the bubbles have been lacking from everyone who goes to the bathroom.
The more you clap for bubbles, the more they appear. Bubbles immediately bring you back to childhood and remind you of the simpler times in life. That deserves a round of applause if you ask us, so give it up for all the bubbles in the world.
38. "Storm Drain" For All The Storm Troopers
If you were wondering where the Storm Troopers were hiding, you should look in this storm drain. It looks like it is their battle shi, and they aren't doing a good job to blend in with the regular world. Anyone can find them and destroy their ship.
We think there should be more Star Wars graffiti around the city. It would make things much more exciting, and it would turn into a search for each piece of artwork. Star Wars fans would go wild, finding all of the little drawings.
39. The Mailbox Will Eat Your Mail And It Will Never Be Delivered
If you weren't nervous walking around at night before, you will be now. Someone decided to make this innocent mailbox look like it has a demon shadow waiting to eat your mail and then devour you after. We all secretly knew mailboxes were demonic.
This must be why people's mail always gets lost. It's not the United States Postal Service's fault; it is the mailbox possessed by mail demons who eat your important items and lose them forever.
40. "Someone Help Us! We Already Lost Steve!"
From the artist who brought you the camels, a little girl picking berries, and the UFO pole, there are now drowning rocks. We can imagine that this is what rocks would look like if they had emotions or faces. Rocks can't breathe underwater, so they are always drowning in rivers.
Although this is a little dark, it is the real-life of rocks that we can't ignore. Next time you see a small rock in a river, move it to dry ground so that it doesn't drown like these. It doesn't take much to save a rock's life.
