Ask anyone who owns a business - big or small - and there is no doubt that they will tell you that it is extremely hard and stressful! But, that doesn't mean it has to be taken so seriously 100 percent of the time. While some companies take themselves way too seriously, others know how to have a bit of fun and, as a result, are typically way more memorable. You will fall over laughing as you see both how hilarious, and how genius, these businesses are and why their customers love them so much.
1. What The Local Coffee Shop Thinks Of Starbucks
A local independent coffee shop blatantly uses a Starbucks mug for its toilet brush holder. Yeah, that's right. So, does that mean that we should call that brush a starbrush?
Clearly they think that Starbucks' coffee belongs in one place - the toilet! Regardless of what you think of Starbucks coffee, you have to admit that this is a pretty funny way to stick it to a competitor.
2. Don't Scream If You Want Ice Cream
This sign at a local ice cream shop shows how much they care about ice cream. After all, there is nothing worse than frightened ice cream.
They could've gone with: Hey, the ice cream doesn't come over to your house and bang on your windows, so don't do it to the poor ice cream.
3. That's So Cheesy
A local grocery store's cheese counter has the right idea about how to get people interested in buying cheese.
The only way to read that is to sing it! Now don't start humming this tune for the rest of the day.
4. This Restaurant Owner Clearly Has A Few Kids As Well
This children's menu at a local sandwich shop has all the ingredients to become a big hit. Although we must say, the "I Don't Want That!" sounds fantastic.
We have a suggestion: There should be a "Pirate's Plate" for those who don't like their food and eat from the other person's plate. And hey, why is peanut butter jelly more expensive than mac and cheese with bacon and smoked cheddar cheese?
5. A Cone Display With A Dad Joke
This cone display at a local ice cream shop deserves a slow clap from everyone. They should add a traffic cone, cone-head, snow cone, cone of shame, and cone of silence.
We have a feeling that the person who owns this store is a dad, and even though they've owned this shop for 20 years this pinecone joke still makes them chuckle everytime they walk in.
6. Permanent Employee Of The Month
This guy named himself the 'Permanent Employee of the Month' on his last day of work at the pet store. "Why does he keep touching the lizards like that?" had us rolling on the floor laughing.
Just so you know, he is the famous 'When life gives you lemons' vine guy. We wonder if the pet store kept his poster up after he left.
7. Tattoo Shop Bought A Closed Movie Theater But Kept The Sign
This tattoo shop's signs are always spot on, and we couldn't agree more. The gluten-free tattoos sign is our favorite of the bunch.
This type of advertising will surely convince those who have never considered getting a tattoo to become lifelong customers.
8. Today's Special - 2 Pizzas, Full Price
This pizza shop is tired of giving normal deals like 'buy 2 pizzas and get 1 free,' so they decided to mix it up a little.
We bet their ‘double pizza order’ sales increased as people are so easily fooled.
9. An Unexpected Quote of the Day
This local coffee shop didn't hold back at all, and came up with a super unexpected quote of the day. Politics aside, everything that sign is saying is, sadly, true.
Now, we're more curious about the anonymous. Who came up with this quote? He/she deserves a raise in salary.
10. A Company That Gets Real About Their Employees
People who work in retail will surely say that this sign must be posted in every store. Any place that deals with the public NEEDS this sign!
This sign is great because people often take out their frustrations, with a company or a product, on the person working at the store. Even if an employee isn't behaving the best at their job, they're still people and should be treated with respect.
11. Sleep Is For The Weak
This coffee shop's drink sizes are based on how much sleep you had last night. We loved it because sleep is for the weak and coffee is for the strong.
They perfectly understand your needs. Which one of these would you get? Hey, can we get XXXXL for immortality?
12. Mouse Trap Anyone?
A local computer repair shop didn't choose modern advertising tactics. Instead, they went for a vintage one and nailed it.
They literally used a 'Mousetrap.' Whoever thought of this gag, we'd like to buy them a drink and shake their hand. And have you ever wondered why they call it a mouse?
13. A Warped Sense of Humor
Someone at the arts & crafts store has a bit of a morbid sense of humor, but no one is complaining.
Who knew they would see a manikin funeral in a store. At least the manikin is going to a better place – an artist's place.
14. Honey Is Being Called Bee Vomit
This coffee shop in Australia decided it would be funny to rename their honey "bee vomit." While this is funny, we feel compelled to point out that, technically, honey is not actually vomited.
It is because honey never is mixed with digesting food in the intestinal tract. Therefore, it would technically be inaccurate to refer to honey as 'bee vomit.' Sorry, did our nerdiness just ruin a fun joke?
15. Offending Vegans Like a Boss
Oh boy, a local butcher shop mounted a vegan statue to the wall. We're sure that while many of the diners loved it, there are plenty of people who would have a big problem with this one.
Vegans can take inspiration from this trolling idea by mounting a hunter statue to the wall.
16. Found At The Bottom Of The Triangular Menu
Someone was at a local coffee shop and randomly decided to flip over the plastic triangle menu. ‘Save the orphaned whales’ had us laughing.
It would have been nice if it said, "Hi there, how about a free coffee for taking time to read the bottom end of this sign? You badly need one!"
17. When You Have Receipt Modifying Privileges
When someone was given the ability to control what is printed on the receipts at the local donut shop, they made the best use of the opportunity. Although it's written "I don't need a receipt for the donut," we think one day they might need an alibi.
Seeing Mitch Hedberg's name at the end makes us feel a bit sad. He was a brilliant American stand-up comedian known for his surreal humor and deadpan delivery.
18. Where's My Coffee?
With this logic, most of us are always screaming. We believe that yawing is your body's way of saying '20% battery remaining.'
We think the most dangerous drinking game in the world is seeing how long you can go without coffee.
19. That's Some Dark Advertising
If you felt bad for laughing at this, keep in mind that most of us feel the same way. But we applaud the creative mind behind it for coming up with something super dark and funny.
They should try "Frame your husband." It reminds us of a hairdresser's sign. "Curl up and Dye".
20. Bags Of Snowman Noses
This local grocery store knows how to make your kids beg to buy a bag of carrots instead of candies.
This is a great deal! Especially considering how hard it is to get snowmen noses these days – such elusive creatures.
21. You Want Healthy? Eat Carrots!
A local ice cream shop has no chill when telling consumers about the ingredients. If you still have any issues with their ice cream, you can sip a glass of skim milk.
We always say that if you are going to eat a treat, make it a good one so it's worth the guilt.
22. When John Cena Is The Star Of The Fire Safety Poster
A Mexican wrestling-themed taco shop didn't disappoint at all. This is literally the greatest image we have ever seen.
So what you should learn from this picture is to never pass up an opportunity to body slam someone who needs your help.
23. Best 'Salad' Ever
This ad for a local pizza shop won our hearts (and stomachs). It has all the nutrients one needs for a balanced diet.
That's why salad is always the answer to: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
24. Only Happens In Canada
You may say it is a photoshopped image, but the truth is that it is an actual Canadian coffee shop.
Now, we feel sorry for not being there to try their sorrowful coffee. Also, notice how the company is apologizing that the sign isn't funnier.
25. They Can Repair, Doesn't Mean They Will
There is no need to judge them as they can fix everything...except doorbells.
It reminds us of some proverbs like, “the cobbler's children have no shoes.” Or, “a carpenter's door is always broken.”
26. A Real Skateboard Fan
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner! This fan on the ceiling of an Istanbul shop is something truly special. We have to admire their dedication to this pun.
As this photo is taken in Istanbul, we have a question to ask: what do skaters there eat for breakfast? Turkey?
27. That's How You Sell Some Produce!
Well, someone took this photo in a Florida grocery store. They forgot to write "No Returns!!!" You got to give it to them as they’re just trying to HELP (wink-wink).
We feel like someone has to figure out how to turn a cucumber into a flashlight now. For all the innocent minded out there that doesn't get it, please know that you are precious.
28. They're Pretty Flexible On Payment
This business is probably the coolest one out there. After all, they accept everything cool from the head of that Cave Troll to compliments about the cashier’s beard.
If you're wondering what that secret Illuminati handshake is, it wouldn't be a secret if you knew about it.
29. Spotted at The Wine Section…No Surprise
The person working in the wine section at a local Giant Eagle certainly has a sense of humor. One wonders what if the coffee shop has a sign that says, "I ran out of wine..."
Fun fact: Rewatch The Dark Knight Rises, and you can catch the Giant Eagle logo during the stadium scene since they didn't change the scoreboard ads at all.
30. They Must Have Sold So Many Avocados
Eating avocadoes is good for your heart and liver, we cannot say the same for dragons or eggs though. However, this local supermarket knew how to combine the two in order to attract customers.
Now don't tell us that Game of Thrones music didn't start playing in your head. Oh boy, how can we forget that ending! Let's just move on to the next photo.
31. Stating The Obvious
You might be wondering why someone would label something as empty, right? Well, a health inspector asked the owner of a local coffee shop, “What's this jar?” and he said, “Nothing, it's empty.” She told him that everything has to be labeled, so he 'labeled' it.
We think this empty plastic mayo (condiment) container is for people who don't want dressing.
32. Nice Try (Wink-Wink)
This photo cracked us up. It seems legit only because the owner pretends not to know what you're up to.
Hey, the red-pink one on the bottom shelf left corner looks like something else, right? Don't act innocent as you know very well what we mean – It looks like an oil burner pipe.
33. When The Gift Shop Doesn't Sugar-Coat Anything
The children's book section at a gift shop didn't hold back at all. Well, the truth hurts sometimes.
It is just like saying, "Your kid is going places - not college but places."
34. The Face of Pure Happiness
A local donut shop posted this photo, but they slightly missed the mark. They could've used the caption: Introducing the Pugnut.
Did anyone else notice the kid in the photo? Ah, that longing look on the little boy's face.
35. Well Played Donut Shop
When a local donut shop was renovating, they didn't want to create panic among the locals and obviously the police. After all, a closed donut shop in the morning means something isn't right.
Overall we have to give them points for their sign, and we will surely be eating there when they reopen.
36. Someone Is Not A Fan Of Hippies
This shaving sign at a barbershop is super hilarious. God bless Dublin and all it's humor!
Even those who are not hippies would want to go to this barbershop now. And hey, did Edward Scissorhands renovate this shop?
37. "There Can Only Be One!"
We're wondering how many buyers actually did scream, "There Can Only Be One!" as they pulled a sword from the box. That's the only way to do it. You must also take it out as if pulling Excalibur from the stone.
Just imagine some buyer screaming, "There can be only one!" By the way, an alternative scream is allowed: "By the power of Greyskull!"
38. Dad Joke Found At A Local Hardware Store
When your local hardware store has a sense of humor, you're living in a cool place. As there is no shortage of stepladder jokes, we couldn't stop laughing at this dad joke.
We feel bad for the stepladder. That's the attitude it gets and it was just trying to help fix a broken home.
